Country-Specific Electronic Contracting Requirements: Portugal

For certain rates, a deposit may be required with the balance due upon arrival. Under Portuguese law, the general limitation period for contractual claims is twenty (20) years from the date the obligation becomes enforceable (Art. 309 Código Civil Português), with a shorter ordinary limitation period of five (5) years for certain obligations (Art. 310).

This includes prompt maintenance response for any equipment failures and alternative arrangements if repairs cannot be completed within a reasonable timeframe.   • Contract Duration: For individual bookings, the contract duration corresponds to your confirmed reservation dates. Group bookings and corporate contracts may have customized duration terms. The contract may be terminated in accordance with our cancellation policy or in cases of force majeure, breach of hotel rules, or non-payment.
  • Digital Content: In accordance with the Decreto-Lei n.º 7/2004 (Lei do Comércio Eletrónico), our digital booking system provides real-time availability, instant confirmation, and secure payment processing. The booking platform is optimized for desktop and mobile devices, requiring an internet connection and updated browser for full functionality. Prior to finalizing any booking, the user will be clearly informed of the technical steps required to complete the contract, the languages in which the contract may be formalized, and the means available to identify and correct input errors.
  • Right of Withdrawal: In accordance with the Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014 (distance contracts), the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services where a specific date or period of performance is agreed upon at the time of booking. This exemption applies to hotel reservations with confirmed dates.
  • Consumer Mediation: In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved directly, consumers may submit a complaint through the Livro de Reclamações (online or physical) or contact ASAE. Consumers may also use a certified consumer mediation entity (entidade de resolução alternativa de litígios - RAL) listed at www.consumidor.gov.pt.
